What would be the best type of event for my dog?
I am looking for something fun to train my dog in after school, at least, when school starts. I have a 2 year old Lab named Angie who has no hip problems and is pretty easy to train. I can throw a ball really far (70 feet), if that helps. And she'll catch it on the first bounce. Jumping and stamina are no problem. She's jumped a 4 foot high jump and will fetch for an hour non-stop. But she hates guns and is not to good at tracking. She goes freako for a tennis ball, their her favorite. But she won't handle a frisbee soft enough to not break it in half. She'll work good with other dogs, once she knows them, or as long as I'm around. We tried agility, but I don't have the right obstacles and can't buy any. I'm not going to enter her in any competitions any time soon, but I want something to train her in. I have two homemade agility jumps and a ramp left from my agility equipment (started out with 5 jumps and a see-saw). Please Help Me!!!
Go for agility! Me and my mutt, Butch, go outside every day to do our jumps I set up in our spacious backyard (lucky to have an enormous backyard!). I run alongside him and go around the jumps, and he sails over them like they're nothing. I think he'll only be able to jump 5 ft high or 5 ft wide, but for now we can jump as long and tall as 4ft long and 2 ft high. It really is amazingly fun and we love it! Best of luck!
