Dog Allergy Symptoms

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]

Dog Food Allergy Symptoms Caused By Commercial Foods

Many reports have shown that there are specific ingredients that are more likely to cause an allergy in your dog.

Food additives, food coloring, and synthetic preservatives can also cause hypersensitivity. Other potential causes of dog food allergies are a food intolerance acquired from exposure to maternal antibodies, a weakened immune system, gastrointestinal sickness caused by vaccinations or secondary to a parasite infection.

Just like humans, your dog can be allergic to just about anything. Figuring out if your dog has a food allergy requires patience and time to test new foods. Usually it takes about 12 weeks to effectively test.

Unfortunately, most commercial dog foods contain some of the most common ingredients that cause allergies in dogs. This shouldn't be surprising because many commercial dog foods are made from the cheapest sources of ingredients they can use.

If your dog is having a difficulty digesting a particular brand of dog food, check the ingredients label against the list below.

beef

wheat

dairy products, such as milk and cheese

eggs

chicken

corn

soybeans

yeast

various spices and additives.

Food allergies can sometimes occur when the dog’s chief source of carbohydrates is soybean in its food. The allergies show up as excessive flatulence and other signs of indigestion. If your dog is hypersensitive to soybean-based dog food, try changing over to another brand of dog food that has been made with regular wheat flour. Or even better, prepare your own dog food.

In some cases, it's not the actual food, but the chemicals, preservatives and pesticides used in and around the foods that cause the allergies.

Dog Food Allergy Symptoms

While dogs suffer from allergies just like people do, an important difference is that, while most humans sneeze a lot and have their symptoms mostly in the respiratory tract, pets display many of their allergic reactions in their skin.

Dog food allergy symptoms are similar to symptoms of many types of allergic reactions in dogs. The main symptom is itchy skin. Your dog’s skin may grow bumps or show excess redness in certain areas. The areas of your dog’s body most generally affected from food allergies are the face, ears, paws or legs, armpits and around the anus. Pieces of fur may be wet most of the time because of constant licking and biting. Some hair loss is also common.

Other food allergy symptoms can include hotspots, ear infections and skin infections that might respond well to antibiotics and then come back as soon as you stop the antibiotics. A pet that is allergic to food may also have stomach problems, most likely bowel movements more often than usual.

It's not always simple to pinpoint food allergy in pets. The biggest trouble is that the symptoms caused by dog food allergy can be very similar to flea bite allergy, intestinal parasite hypersensitivity, mange and yeast or bacterial infections. It is crucial to look for and address any of these possibilities before starting a 12 week food trial to resolve any food allergies.

Why Does My Dog Not Listen to Me?

Building Respect Through House Rules

Your puppy/dog doesn't come to you automatically trusting and respecting you just because you are "human".  To earn his trust and respect; you must set and enforce a consistent set of rules.   Consistent means the same rules with the same consequences enforced by all members of the household.

Dogs need 4 things in order to be happy, obedient and mentally well balanced:  essentials (food, water, shelter), exercise (structured), clearly defined and consistently reinforced rules and love

If there are no defined rules in your household, your puppy will either become confused due to the inconsistency of rules/consequences or become completely out of control, following perfectly normal behavior for the dog world that does not fit into the human world.  This will lead to frustration and anger from you, creating frustration and/or aggression from your puppy.

When your puppy becomes frustrated, that frustration will manifest in one or more of the following:

Nipping           Biting              Chewing          Barking           Digging           Aggression

Although all of these behaviors are natural and normal for your puppy, they can escalate very quickly into a frustrating and potentially dangerous situation for your family.   Here are some tips to help him stay happy and well behaved.

  1. Setting the house rules:  Make a list of rules for your puppy.  Put this list together with every member of your family's input.  List everything he is not allowed to do (i.e. jumping on people, bolting through doors, nipping, pottying in the house and anything else your family decides on).  After each rule, write down what consequence you will give him if he breaks that rule.  Decide together, and then post it on the refrigerator where everyone can see it.  This will help your family to be consistent and make your dog's training progress at a faster rate.      See example below.

  2. Walking:  Dogs have an instinctual need for walking and this is one of the best ways to burn off some energy, add in some training, as well as give your puppy much needed mental stimulation and happiness.  This is not a "potty" walk, it is an exercise walk.  Using the proper equipment is very important; use a leather or nylon leash and either a buckle collar or no pull harness.  There are many different equipment options on the market, so if a buckle collar or no pull harness doesn't work for you and your puppy talk to a positive reinforcement trainer for additional suggestions.  Walk your puppy at least once a day (preferably two times a day) for at least 20 minutes.

  3. Nothing in life is free:  Your dog must work for everything he likes!  Food, walks, attention and play all need to be controlled by you.  Your dog must sit and wait or at least be calm before he gets to eat his food, before you put the leash on, before you pet him and before you begin play.  If your puppy seems to be bossy, you should be the one to instigate all play.  If he brings you a toy, ask him to sit first and then you can pick up the toy and engage him in play.  Your puppy demanding that you play with or pet him may be cute at first, but it won't be so cute when he is bigger and more demanding.

  4. Decide whether your puppy will be allowed on the furniture.  If you don't want your puppy on the furniture, NEVER allow him on it, don't make exceptions – your puppy will not understand when it is ok and when it is not.  If he is allowed on the furniture, attach the Nothing In Life Is Free program to it, he must sit before you give him the ok to jump up on the furniture.  For pups that are having dominant, bossy or aggression related behaviors or if you just don't want them on the furniture; they should not be allowed on the furniture at all – even when you are not there.  If this is the case, you will need to block his access to the furniture when you are not home.

  5. Teach your puppy not to invade your space.  He should not be allowed to jump on you.  When he jumps on you, use as little physical contact as possible; ignore him completely until he calms down and then give affection.

  6. Stay calm and confident:   Dogs read and feed off of our body language.  If you show uncertainty, frustration, nervousness, confusion, anger or stress, your puppy will pick up on those feelings and become stressed, confused, aggressive and/or nervous.  If you are calm and confident, he will be calmer, balanced, happy and more obedient.

House Rules Example

Buddy is not allowed to jump on people

if he jumps on us, we will turn away and ignore him until he sits

if he jumps on guests, we will put the leash on him before the guests arrive and                              step on the leash so Buddy can't jump on them

Buddy is not allowed to potty in the house

we will take Buddy out after he wakes up, plays hard, eats or is sniffing

if we catch him pottying, we will interrupt him and take him outside

if we can't watch him, we will confine him to his crate

we will use the elimination log to determine his routine

we will reward him when he potties in the right spot

If you do no other training with your pup other than setting and enforcing the house rules in a fair and consistent manner, you will have a dog that can live inside your house with very few frustrations.

Basic Dog Obedience Commands

When you have decided what you want your dog to learn, think of a command to use for that particular trick. The command can be anything you wish, as long as you will be consistent with the use (e.g.. Not use the same command for something else) and as long as the command doesn't too much resemble some other command that your dog already knows. For example, you can teach your dog to retrieve a thrown object by using the command 'retrieve', but if you want him to bring you a desired object that you have hidden (or lost), there's no point in saying 'retrieve ball.

First you must teach your dog to sit on command. Probably the easiest way to teach a dog to sit on command is to have a treat (dog biscuit, piece of cheese, etc. Another way to teach a dog to sit on command is very simple but takes a little more time: each time you see that your dog is going to sit, tell him to 'sit. Some people suggest you to teach a dog to sit on command by pressing his butt on the ground while saying 'sit. Later, once he has clearly understood the meaning of the command 'sit. Once your dog has learned to sit on command, you can proceed to' shaking hands'. Repeat this couple of times -- most dogs learn this very fast, if your timing (the command + the praise and treat) is right. The advantage of teaching this trick is that once the dog' dances' on command, he doesn't put as much weight (maybe none at all) on people as when jumping against them, thus it is a very good replacement behavior for a dog who jumps too easily. It would be easiest to teach this trick if your dog already can sit on command and stays that way until you give him the permission to go -- this way you can hide a toy etc. Let the dog earn food, treats, and walks or being loved and petted on head by learning a new trick or command. The commands can start from the basic ones such as 'Sit', 'Down' and 'Stay' and gradually move to the simpler tricks such as 'Shake', 'Speak' and 'Roll Over' to the more complex commands and tricks such as 'Fetch The Ball', 'Fetch The Newspaper' or 'Jump Through The Ring'.

Train him to perform at least one of the commands before getting anything desirable such as food, walk or love. Do not give the desired thing until the dog drops his resistance and starts obeying your command. Dogs who are more fearful feel more comfortable by obeying commands and knowing their place in the hierarchy. Most dogs love performing these tricks (obedience commands) for you which also pleasantly acknowledge that you are in charge.

When you feel both you and your dog are skilled at several obedience commands, then take these commands to different areas. If you suddenly want your dog to down-stay while you are trying to move over 3 lanes to make an exit, you had better find time to practice those obedience commands in the car long before you need them. This should be taught before any of the other basic obedience training commands is started. There are many types of pet supplies to help you train your dog. You may want to consider getting a dog training collar to make the training go faster.

Adult Dog Training

Dog Behavior Training - Dog Training To Correct Behavior Problems

Have you ever wished that the secrets of dog behavior training were available to anyone who wished to take their dog obedience training to a new level? The truth is that proper dog training can be simple for anyone who is willing to educate themselves on the best way to communicate with man's best friend. In order to succeed at puppy training or adult dog training you must first understand why dogs do what they do. There are only two reasons why a dog performs any behavior:

1- To increase pleasure: Have you ever wondered why your dog pees on the floor, chews up your couch, and jumps on your guests? That's right, these activities produce pleasure for your dog. It's as simple as that. If these behaviors didn't produce a fun experience then your dog wouldn't do them. Any time you wish to correct behavior problems with your dog it is important to first realize that your dog is doing these things out of pure pleasure.

2- To avoid discomfort: Old school dog behavior training prescribed a very harsh method of correcting behavior problems and fomented a dog obedience regimen that was very disciplinarian in it's root form. That type of dog training is unnecessary and will often do more harm than good.

Very skilled dog behavior training, though, should use humane corrections that merely provide an annoying deterrent to help correct behavior problems. Humane corrections can run the gamut from spray bottles to annoying noises all the way to training collars. Yes, used properly, a training collar can be a very valuable and humane tool for getting rid of unwanted behavior problems. It is recommended that you seek out the services of a qualified professional if you are going to use such a tool. These dog training collars are merely used to provide an annoying feeling and not a painful feeling.

In understanding these two concepts it is then much easier to formulate a training program that will fit your individual dog. With my own dogs or with the dogs of clients I always have a two-fold approach to training:

1- Obedience training must be mandatory. This is where the new school of dog trainers go wrong. The new school of dog obedience training uses lots of treats. The correction for an unwanted behavior is often a simple ignoring of said behavior. This style of dog training will never make obedience a mandatory endeavor for your dog. Think about it, if your dog has the option to come when called to get a treat or run wildly towards a busy street in the direction of a fleeing cat, which option do you think your dog will take? Likely he will head to the street and risk life and limb for the cat. This is because the owner never enforced their training efforts to the point where obedience is mandatory.

2- Obedience training must be fun. Just because something is mandatory doesn't mean it also shouldn't be fun. Dog behavior training is intrinsically fun for your dog because your dog gets to work side by side with you. Your dog is able to bond as he learns from you and learns a deep level of trust as you guide him along with his training. If you skip this step then you may have an obedient dog, but he sure won't enjoy it.

I have referenced old school and new school dog training practices. Old school training is harsh and rough. New school is all fun and games. To truly have the best trained dog you need to combine the best of both schools. From the old school we use corrections to get rid of unwanted behaviors. From the new school we use a great deal of motivation and fun. The end result is the best trained dog on the block.

When you understand dog behavior training and how your dog views his world you can truly accomplish amazing things with your canine companion. Dog training can truly be made easy when you live these principles, rather than practice them at random intervals throughout the day. It's time to get to work!

Flip Flop Fly Ball

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]
flip flop fly ball

Mystic Towers

Background

Each tower consists of 45 rooms (5 floors with 9 rooms), 15 monsters, and 1 monster generator. Upon entering the tower, the door slams shut. To exit, Baldric must defeat all the monsters, destroy the monster generator, and obtain the Large Red Tower Key that opens the main door at the start of the level.

Gameplay

Baron Baldric begins his quest at the entrance of the tower. He must move throughout each of the five floors of the tower, destroy all monsters and the monster generator; after which he will be awarded with the red tower key that can be used to exit the tower in the same way he came in.

Baron Baldric has three "life" bars that must be watched over the course of gameplay: a health bar, a food bar, and a drink bar. The health bar shows Baldric's hit points, which decrease as Baron takes damage from monsters, is poisoned, or steps on traps. Once the food meter or drink meter empties, the Baron begins to lose health. When his health meter runs out, Baron loses a life (he begins with nine in reserve, but when these are gone and he dies again, it's Game Over [or, as the game puts it, "Dead End" - the joke being that Baldric is dead]).

The food and drink bars show Baron's hunger and thirst, and they slowly decrease over the course of gameplay. Along his quest, Baldic must consume enough food and drink to avoid starvation and thirst. If at any time, one or more of these two bars run out, Baron Baldric will slowly lose life until food or drink is consumed, and neither meters are empty.

Food can be found in a variety of places, and some monsters will drop them when killed. Drinks can be found in bottles and flasks, as well as in water fountains in towers. Note that some bottles contain wine, which will make Baron Baldric tipsy (characterized by spinning and hiccupping) for a short while).

Baldric can be poisoned by walking over poison tiles; some enemies have a venom attack which also poisons Baldric. Poison slowly drains Baldric's health meter; Baldric can cure poison by eating a mushroom (eating it at any other time is instantly fatal), drinking green slime (which poisons Baldric at any other time), or by using a healing spell.

Coins can be collected to purchase spells. The higher the floor of the tower in which a spell is purchased, the more powerful the spell generally is. Note that spell "vending machines" may break after a few uses.

Treasure can also be collected to increase the player's points.

Spells

In order to defeat monsters, Baron Baldric must use a variety of damage spells that can be collected randomly in the level. The player must manage the usage of spells because most damage spells have limited ammunition. The spells are listed below:

Ice: The default spell. A weak damage spell with unlimited ammunition.

Sulfur: (Max 50) A slightly stronger damage spell. It is not useful against more powerful monsters, but is sufficient in the early stages.

Venom Cloud: (Max 40) A medium damage spell found in relative abundance. If Baldric is hit by a Venom Cloud (some monsters are able to shoot them), he becomes poisoned.

Fireball: (Max 30) Fires a ball of flame. It is a powerful damage spell.

Lightning: (Max 20) Fires a bolt of lightning. It is the most powerful (and rare) damage spell.

In addition to attack spells, there a variety of utility spells that have various purposes (see below).

Reveal Spell: A utility spell that lights dark rooms, reveals hidden doors, treasure, and poison tiles.

Heal Spell: A utility spell that restores some health and cures poison.

Teleport: When used on a teleport pad, this utility spell teleports Baldric to another teleport pad on the floor indicated by the number on the pad. Some pads link across gaps in the same room.

Levitate: Causes Baldric to float one level above the floor, this spell can be cast multiple times to float even higher. Useful for avoiding poison tiles and ground monsters. Baron can return to the ground by jumping.

Bomb!: Can only be cast on a monster generator; this spell destroys the generator, preventing more monsters from being created in the level. Note that although multiple bombs may be found in a tower, any additional bombs found after the generator is destroyed are useless.

Powerups

There are three types of powerups that Baron Baldric can collect in a tower. These are invisibility, meta-power and shields. These powerups only last a limited amount of time.

Meta-power greatly boosts the power of Baron Baldric's currently equipped spell, allowing him to use weaker spells to defeat stronger enemies, or blow them away using the more powerful spells. Very useful for conserving ammunition.

Invisibility makes Baron Baldric invisible for a short duration. During this time, monsters will not attack Baron Baldric unless they run into him, and autofire rooms (rooms that senses the presence of Baldric and fire) will not activate. Of course, Baldric will still be able to activate traps and become poisoned.

Shields make Baldric invulerable to everything for a short duration. This means that monsters will not attack, and Baldric is immune to poison tiles, traps and fire. He can still be poisoned from drinking slime and killed from eating a poisonous mushroom (when not poisoned).

Monsters

Screenshot of game play.

There are 30 unique monsters spanning the 12 levels, with 5 monster types occupying each tower. Note that each monster type will show up in 2 of the 12 towers. Monsters have a specific domain of rooms that they will wander around in, and will not leave that domain. You can determine if you've entered a monster's domain if you can see a portrait of a monster (and its life bar) in the upper right corner of the screen. If you are low on life, you can simply leave a monster's domain to evade it.

Generally, monsters attack by biting or clawing Baron Baldric, but some monsters are also capable of shooting projectiles, like ice shots, venom clouds, fireballs and lightnings. These projectiles are extremely harmful, and should be avoided at all costs, especially the venom cloud variant of shooting monsters, which are found in the higher level of the towers.

To defeat them, use any one of Baron Baldric's spells, lure them toward a Bomb Trap, or jump on top of them (if possible). However, keep in mind that monsters will have more health, and are generally more dangerous and more aggressive in the higher levels of a tower. Also, a monster may move faster when it is damaged enough, giving a would-player a hard time.

Below is a short description of each monster, and where they would appear:

Rimm Tower and Rimm Fortress

Scarabite: A bug-like monster. Arguably the weakest monster in game, it attacks by biting.

Jagurota: A weird monster with a crocodile-like head and a spinning, spiked body. Attacks by biting.

Azurblast: A wheeled monster that fires fireballs when damaged to a certain extent.

Fungafly: A fungus-like flying monster. Attacks by biting.

Dralek: A snake-like monster with a skirt for movement. Attacks by biting.

Tor Karad Keep and Tor Karad Castle

Triworm: An one-eyed worm that moves by bumbling about. Attacks by clawing.

Clawfoot: A mating between a pair of eyes and bird claws. Moves quickly and attacks by clawing.

Shrimpion: A shrimp-like creature that attacks using ice spells, despite the lightning blast depicted in the preview page. Certain ones can fire venom clouds.

Puffer: A bouncing creature that attacks by biting

Flip-Flop: A creature that moves using a slab-like contraption. Attacks by licking and biting.

Nortscar Needle and Nortscar Spire

Podhopper: A one-eyed monsters with two stilts extending from its sides. Attacks by clawing with its 'stilts'.

Cobbla: A large snake. Attacks by biting.

Sniper: A strange shelled creature that normally sticks close to the floor. However, it will raise itself up on four legs to attack with fireballs.

Monobeak: A bird with an oversized foot. Attacks with its single clawed foot.

Snapdragon: A small dragonlike creature. Attacks by biting.

Wolf's Fang and Wolf's Claw

Ruddimp: An imp like monster with an oversized fork attached to its head. It moves quickly and fires venom clouds as a primary means of attack.

Shillaya: A monster that looks similar to an elf. Attacks by using its stick.

Bagfly: A mating between a bag and a fly. Attacks by sucking on its target.

Stinger: A jellyfish-like monster. Attacks with its tentacles.

Leman: A big blob that resembles a lemon. It bounces around as it moves, and attacks by biting its target.

Ebonscarp and Ebonscarp II

Crocojaw: A monster that lurks below the floor, with its eyes the only thing that is visible until it attacks. It's very easy to miss in a dark room. Attacks by coming to the surface and biting.

Hothead: A head that floats around. It is quite easy to miss because of its small size. Attacks by licking its target with a tongue of flame.

Rosie: A monster that resembles a young human girl. The evil Baron Lazarus met his end at the hands of one of these monsters. Despite appearances, it does not sound like a woman. It is capable of firing fireballs, as well as engaging in melee up close.

Eggnog: A monster that looks like an egg with arms and legs. A pair of eyes glow from inside the eggshell.

Skelefly: A bouncing skeleton with only one leg. Attacks by biting.

Marchwall Hold and MarchWall Fort

Fire-Asp: A snake-like monster that is capable of firing fireballs from its mouth.

Verdragon: The only melee monster in these two towers. It is capable of flying over obstacles though.

Firebones: A fiery skeleton that is capable of firing fireballs from its eye sockets.

Writwraith: A male apparition that is capable of firing lightning bolts as its primary means of attack. Very dangerous.

Toxignat: Its small size makes it difficult to spot. It is especially dangerous because it's fast and powerful, with a powerful venom attack to boot. Approach these monsters with extreme caution.

Traps and damaging surfaces

Aside from monsters, the towers themselves are far from harmless. There are a variety of traps that the player should be aware off, so that they do not trigger them inadvently. There are a few types of traps the play should be aware of:

Bomb Traps drop bombs when Baron Baldric walks on top of a triggering floor tile. These bombs can take away a greater portion of the Baron's health, and will damage anything 1 tile around the trap tile, so don't trigger them by mistake! Bombs can be avoid if the player moves away in time, and can be used to kill monsters by a clever player. Bomb-dropping switches that drop bombs when pressed serve the same function, except they can be controlled by the player.

Fireball Traps shoots fireballs when a floor button is depressed. Only Baron Baldric can trigger these. Fireballs hurt, so avoid triggering these traps, or avoid the fireballs. Of course, these traps can be used to kill monsters by lining the fireballs up with the monsters.

Poison tiles are secret tiles that will poison Baron Baldric when he walks on them. Needless to say, avoid them at all costs. Watch out for floor tiles with a single green dot in the center, as they usually indicate a poison tile or a bomb trap. The reveal spell can reveal poison tiles. IF you see a skull drawn on the wall, you know there is a poison tile somewhere in the room.

Pain Tiles are 3x3 tiles with a skull marked in the center. These tiles do not poison Baron Baldric, but will continually damage him as long as he stands on them. Avoid them, or quickly run across them to minimize the damage. The levitation spell allows Baron Baldric to move across them without taking damage.

Baron Baldric can become poisoned in a variety of ways, such as stepping on a poison tile, drinking slime, or getting hit by a venom cloud. Baron Baldric slowly loses health and the health bar flashes when Baron Baldric is poisoned, and he turns green. In order to cure poison, the player can use a heal spell, drink slime from outlets, or eat a mushroom (the only instance where eating a mushroom is beneficial. If Baron Baldric eats a mushroom when he's not poisoned, he will die instantly).

Runes

These helpful runes, carved into the walls of a particular room, can tell Baron Baldric what he should expect in the room.

Skull Runes indicate the presence of poison tiles. Use the Reveal spell to reveal them.

Eye Runes indicate something is hidden in this room. Use the Reveal spell to reveal the hidden object.

Mystery Runes look somewhat like a fish symbol turned 90 degrees counterclockwise. They indicate that a spot in the wall is a secret doorway to an adjacent room. Experiment by trying to walk into walls to discover it.

Apprentice and Wizard towers

As the name implies, the game takes place inside of towers. There are 12 towers in the game. Each tower has an "Apprentice" version, which Baldric visits on the first half of his quest, and a "Wizard" version, which he visits on the second. Apprentice towers are significantly easier than Wizard towers. In Wizard towers, Baldric does not start with maps of each floor, the monsters are significantly stronger, teleporters do not link in a ring, the Red Tower Key is not in the starting room, and there are new classes of obstacles to overcome.

Training For Cats

How to Train Your Cat to Come When Called

Contrary to popular belief, it is far from impossible to train a cat. In fact, it may be much easier than you think. If you would like to train your cat to come when his/her name is called, then you will have to adopt different techniques to those used when training a dog. Nevertheless, with a little patience and some persistence, you should be able to train your kitty to come to you on command.

There are, of course, many benefits to training your cat basic obedience, such as approaching you when called, which include: being able to call your cat in from outside in the evenings or ensuring that in an emergency, such as a house fire, you can quickly locate your cat and make sure that he/she is protected from danger.

So, if you would like to begin training your cat to come when called, the following tips will help you develop the correct techniques that will make cat obedience training much easier.

1. First, it is a good idea to use the cat's name as a command call. Obviously, this is essential if you are in a home with multiple pets, but it is wise even if your cat is the only animal in the home, because cats, like dogs, quickly recognize and respond to the sound of their own names.

2. In order to encourage your cat to approach you, it is crucial that you offer a pleasant experience, such as a tasty treat, favorite toy or praise. The reward method you choose will depend on your individual cat and what motivates him/her most effectively. However, it is wise to use food rewards in moderation, because otherwise you will end up with a very overweight cat.

3. It is advisable to ensure that you do not call your cat only on occasions when you have something unpleasant to offer, such as crating, medication or a trip to the vet. If these are the only circumstances in which you call your cat, you will soon find that he/she will no longer come to you. Of course, there will be times when it is necessary to do something that the cat finds unpleasant, but, on these occasions, you should offer a treat before the unpleasantness.

4. You may need to exercise quite a bit of patience, especially if you are trying to train a particularly willful adult cat. If your cat flatly refuses to come to you, then simply wait until he/she chooses to approach you, then say the cat's name and provide lots of praise. Hopefully, the cat will soon associate coming to you when its name is called, with pleasant treats and attention.

5. As you may already know, cats do not have the longest attention span in the animal kingdom, so you might have to be prepared to perform your training over weeks, trying to get your kitty to come to you just once a day. Obviously, the time you can devote to training will depend on your lifestyle and the individual character of your cat.

6. One of the most important things to remember is to remain consistent. In other words, if you have chosen to offer your cat a favorite toy as a reward, you must continue to use this toy. Moreover, if there are other people in the house, ensure that they use the same reward that you are using. Cats are savvy and if the reward is not forthcoming, they may decide that they are no longer willing to comply with your command.

As mentioned above, training a cat to come when called can be incredibly easy, but it is important to remain patient and consistent.

The difference between a simple and smart dog is that a smart dog knows exactly what is going in his/her master's mind. The dog can easily influence the master. Few characteristics of smart dogs are as follows:

  • They always have some innovative ideas for mischievous behavior.

  • They have an excellent skill of understanding the words.

  • They evaluate the commands and react accordingly.

In fact, many determined dogs do not allow humans to train them easily. Determined dogs are tough to train and if you find your dog is diverted to any particular thing, then you need to leave him/her alone and stop the training immediately. Your dog's interest might be for the time being distracted by a unique indulgence such as a small toy or some shinny thing. However, after providing the dog with that thing, he/she returns to fulfill his or her initial target. This initial target can be anything such as digging of ground or chewing your sofa cover. You can control such dogs by using a few dog training tips.

If you find your dog behaving in this manner, then the training him/her may be a tough task, but it is definitely achievable. You need to understand and analyze the dog's behavior keenly and accordingly make a list of exercises that you can make your dog perform. Pet Training Classes

Dog Trainers Are Trying To Make The Dog Training Classes Interesting But Still Serve The Purpose

The dog obedience training is nowadays picking up in many cities and towns, in various parts of the world. The internet is also becoming a hub for such training through the use of dog training courses that are imparted to the dog owners and through them to the dogs. These course modules are possible to be seen through the videos which have been specially prepared by the world famous dog trainers.

The foremost thing about dog training classes that is told to the owners is to make the training process as fun filled as possible without the element of use of force. Such a strategy of force use would backfire and the dog can become unruly. The important thing that the dog obedience training requires is to have patience and identify the basic dog nature. Like for human beings, the dogs are of different species and breeds, which make them posses different behaviours as a result of their breed.

Puppy training aims at this particular feature in the most initial part of the classes. Species like the retrievers are good at retrieving different things, greyhounds are good at hunting, and collies are famous for herding, and so on. Keeping these kinds of dogs and not using them for the specific purposes can lead to behavioural problems that have hints of their original nature.

Dog training schools aim at inculcating the good habits of heeding the commands of the masters and manipulating their activities in such a way that it suits their original characteristics. Playing in a constructive manner is favored by most of the dog training classes where activities like jumping, running, retrieving balls or objects are taught regularly. Not only the dogs are agile and alert by these activities, it is said that they develop a good health and a good rapport with their masters. Various activities like dancing, tracking, going on hunting and trekking, etc are practiced on a regular basis. The dog trainers stress that the more activities that the dogs are shared with the masters, their proximity gets better and there is increased chances of the dogs heeding their master's command.

Dog potty training is one of the features that are taught compulsorily to the masters so that this allows the house to remain clean and free of any unnecessary dirtiness. During the whole process of the dog training classes, another very important factor that is to be kept in mind by the pet owners is about the methods of bathing and cleaning regularly. Dogs with hairs have tick growths as well as have infections on the skin and nails. Regular check up at home to identify any common problems of the dogs is taught in the dog training schools which are meant for the owners.

Teaching the dogs should be undertaken from the very early days when the pets are still small puppies. If the puppies training is properly done, then in the long run, the habits stay and the dogs are no more a source of nuisance. Puppy training classes should be taken up by the masters, which allow them to put their pets under discipline and provide an environment to the pets where their growth is also healthy.

House Training A Pet

Important Puppy House Training Tips

Puppy house training can be difficult at times, but happy most of the time especially if you and your dog already have a good relationship. Puppy house training will teach your pet the rules, dos and don'ts inside your house. This is important because it will show you how obedient your dog is to you. This will also teach your pet discipline and obedience. Though it may be stressful at the start, you will finally see its results once you have successfully performed the training. So, it is important that you focus on the training so that your dog will see that it is a must to learn the things you would like him to do.

One of the lessons you need to teach your pet is to potty train. This is important because it will affect the hygiene and cleanliness of your dog and your house as well. By doing this training, you will need to monitor your pet's bowel time. You may feed him at the same time everyday so that you will see the intervals when the dog needs to poop. You can just take your pet to its potty space when you feel it will bring out some bowel.

Aside from potty training, teaching your dog where to sleep during the night is a part of the puppy house training. This will help your dog find its comfort place inside your house. It will also teach your pet where to stay and rest so that it will not be sleeping just about anywhere. You can create its own corner for bowel and sleeping. You may also allot a space for feeding.

Puppy house training can actually organize everything so that your pet and house will not be in a mess. This will teach your dog to be disciplined and once it has become a habit, your dog will definitely follow every command you give. Start this training as soon as you acquire the puppy. This will make him get used to the trainings that you will be giving him. And it is also important to practice this everyday. Dogs are like humans that are following habits.

Pet Crate Training

pet crate training

Three Top Reasons To Check Out New Puppy Crate Training

When you are a family pet master perhaps you are searching for a good potty training solution. Many techniques are better than some for a range of factors. It is actually up to you, being the master, to determine the correct solution for your dog house training.

Simply put, doggy crate training is normally requiring your dog to rest as well as have their meals inside any kind of a crate which is approximately 1.5x its length from the top of the head to the base of the tail. When you will be habitual in the training this excellent strategy could in a natural manner develop your puppy to hold its desire to make use of the bathroom till you're taking it outside of their crate and then outside your household.

You will discover three excellent motives for why you need to make use of pet crate training.

First of all, dog crate training will take advantage of all-natural puppy intuition. Considering the fact that puppies happen to be of a canine category this advice goes for all the breeds. Canines naturally look for a den-like habitat to declare as their own home.

This will get far better! Canines also refrain from soiling the location they nap as well as feed. Since the puppy ıs going to be resting along with consuming inside this crate their own all natural instincts might help teach them to hold on to the restroom tendencies.

This is when consistency has an important role. If you're disciplined on coming home, taking them out from his or her kennel, afterward sending them outside to make use of the lavatory they're going to produce a behavior of controlling toilet cravings until finally you get to your residence.

Secondly, keeping your canine inside the kennel whilst you're at the workplace shields both your property and even your dog! At times a dog might be careless and destroy something significant. Your doggie will not fully understand very well. Remaining inside the kennel will prevent harm to your house coming from your canine.

Along with that, your puppy can be shielded from likely dangers laying around the house. It will not be in a position to gnaw on cable connections or even knock something big upon itself. As you can see, dog crate training can help avoid quite a few incidents.

Thirdly, after a short period of instruction your dog can be fairly at ease inside a pet crate. In case you actually have to take your canine friend to the vet you'll have the most perfect option for driving your own puppy. They already enjoy the kennel, so why not allow them to travel inside it?

This benefits long-distance travel to boot. If you have to fly on an airline to another region or even drive for long periods you have the best way of taking your doggie with you! Your pet won't mind spending two to six hours in a dog crate which they rest in on a daily basis.

As you can see puppy crate training is an extremely excellent choice for potty training a canine. Alternative systems go against all natural canine intuition. You should employ something you know your pet dog is going to love just as much as you do?
