Q #2 Re: Don Sullivan's Secrets to Training the Perfect Dog System. I'd like to hear from ACTUAL users.?
Thank you for all the answers to my first question, but only one response was from someone who had actually tried the system. Is there anyone else who has actually achieved success with this system?
I have actually used the system, so I am not just making assumptions and judgments upon what I’ve seen, but on real life experience, and I can say that what you see in the infomercial is what you get, if you following things properly. I can see how people could be skeptical of the infomercial, but, I guess you have to look beyond the “flash” and look at the content of the message instead.
I did see major changes within my dog, within minutes, but he wasn’t “perfect” overnight. But, it did only take a matter of weeks before he was no longer jumping, pulling on the leash (I actually run with him off leash now along major roads), trying to attack other dogs, and generally getting into things and being disobedient. He’s totally respectful of the boundaries within the house and outside and I can trust he’s not going to chase after creatures and kids (even though I leave the front door of my place open wide where he has his doggie bed). So, I guess what the infomercial means is that your dog will quickly become perfect, in your eyes, after a few weeks of overcoming all the major issues.
I’ve read some of the responses to your previous question and I’d have to say that anyone who has a comment about this system, without watching the DVDs and trying it for themselves, is not a good source of advice. Believe me, I’ve known people who have struggled for years with their dogs and have spent a lot of money on trainers and all sorts of training equipment, and they really need this system! It’s hard to say exactly why it works because it’s not just a “do this and that” kind of thing. Yes, of course, there’s specific instruction, but it’s more about changing the core of the relationship with your dog and he’ll start responding to you differently.
PS. The website on the infomercial is www.theperfectdog.com, but you can also find more info at the guy's own website: www.dogfather.tv
