Help teaching a potty trained dog learn to use potty pads?
My dog is 3 yrs old. He has always pottied outdoors. I am now moving into an apartment on the 2nd floor. I don't want to go outside at like 12:30 at night by myself and walk him around the bldg to potty. Is there any way to teach him to use potty pads just at night?
If your going to use puppy pads you might as well use them all the time, doing both will only confuse your dog. Start by taking the puppy pads out to where your dog uses the bathroom, it sounds gross but once you get your dog to pee on one bring it inside so that your dog knows its ok to pee on it, if your dog uses the bathroom inside pick him up as fast as you can and put him on the mat, their are also sprays to spray on the mats that have a scent dogs want to pee on they are really helpful !
