Huskies - Outdoors year round?

Will Siberian Husky brothers (8 mos old) be alright if left outdoors all year round (NJ)? This will be their first winter and I am concerned that the overnight temps and overall cold weather will hurt them. They are not walked regularly, not socialized, not allowed indoors, no training involved (obedience, potty, etc.) - just kept outdoors under deck - concrete ground (due to digging), fenced in area. Not large space. Little human contact. No exercise.

My brother - 1st time dog owner - purchased these 2 pups from birth. Did no research, has no idea what he's doing and I'm just trying to see that he does as little damage as possible to these 2 beautiful dogs before they end up in a shelter.

Constructive advice/suggestions much appreciated. I am a dog owner myself of 2 rescues - but have no idea about huskies. Thanks!

There is a great difference between "survival" and "living"

The dogs can survive the temperatures. But, they are not living a life. Living includes being with their human family, being loved, socialized, trained, and enjoyed.

Left to continue as they have, this is such a great loss.

Since you have rescued, I suggest you educate your brother on being a responsible dog owner. Assist him in learning more about this breed through internet research and talking with owners at Siberian Clubs in your area.

With your help, he can do better for this pair!
