Dog Potty Training For Any Dog

Bringing a new puppy into your home can be a very thrilling experience but if you don’t have patience it can be a very annoying time for you and your pet.  You bought the dog because it was cute but when it gets home you absolutely have to make time for dog potty training.  If you don’t make time to train your new puppy the novelty of having a new pet will wear off quick.  Potty training above all other training is the most important first step you can take with your new pet.

New puppies need early training in order for them to live in the same home with you.  This is the mistake of too many dog owners.  As soon as they discover poop on their carpet then they want to spank their puppy.  This is the wrong attitude and wrong way to correct this problem.  The problem can be corrected with simple training steps that you need to learn in order for your new puppy to adapt to your home.

There are signs your new puppy will give you when its time for him to go outside.  As a dog owner you need to know and learn what his behavior is like so that you can immediately begin the first step in dog potty training.  This step helps you to indentify when your puppy needs to go.  The basic sign of needing to go outside is your puppy will start to smell in various areas of your home trying to find a suitable place to poop.  When you realize your puppy needs to potty, simply take your puppy outside.  If you can pick up on his signal then you can repeat this step over and over again until your puppy understands.

Each new dog owner should go through some type of dog potty training whether its through a class at the local pet store or reading a book.  Many pet owners make the mistake of disciplining their new puppies by screaming at them when they make the mistake of pooping on the new carpet but this isn’t always the best way to train.  Many times it can be noticed that a puppy has a screamer for a dog owner by the way it acts.  They act real shy and nervous around people.  You don’t want your dog behaving like this.

Take out the time to educate yourself on proper dog potty training methods so you will create a happy home for new puppy.

When is the best time to potty train dog?

When is the best time to potty train your dog? What is an easy way to train them to pee on the pad? OR if they had their shots, could i just train them to pee outside instead? i have 2 month old female shih-tzu

Start training her immediately! Skip the pee pad training, since that just teaches her it's okay to go potty in the house.

This website has detailed instructions on several different housebreaking methods you might want to consider for her:

Good luck and congratulations on your new puppy!
