At Home Dog Training

How do I train my dog to stay home during the day while I am at work?

He is a 8 yrs. old chiahuhua mixed with boston bull terrier. Currently, he stays at my mother-in-law's but she will be moving soon and pets are not allowed at her new place.

Try having your mother-in-law or another trusted friend or relative come to YOUR home for a few weeks to "dog-sit", then have them just come for a hour or 2 a day...then every other day, until you can just gradually get the dog used to being alone while you work

what are some of the easiest things we could build at home for a dog training course?

What are examples of a dog training course?

well you need a seesaw and bendable poles and a play tube and just rearrange them around in your yard and practice every day<3333

Has anyone had a trainer come into your home to train your dog?

I am thinking about doing that with my 9 month old lab/pit mix. Can you tell me about your experience with it?? Thank you!!
thanks to those of you who answered me...I do know that I have to train her, not the trainer... she had been through obedience class when she was 5 months old, and we are consistent with her, but we are also looking into this for a behavioral eval...thanks.

This is pretty common where I live. A trainer will come in once a week and teach the dog a command and you will have to train the dog in following it. Most people who have had that experience have had no problems with it, however, some people wanted to have someone else train their dog and were not aware they would be doing all the training. You need yo understand that and decide if this is what you want.
