is there a dog frisbee/disc, agility, and/or flyball clubs/training center in michigan/indiana/area?
i have a 9/10 week old border collie. i dont any land. a normal small yard so i need to get him into dog sports to exercise him. im having a hardtime training him because he's so obsessed with me instead of things im holding. he also doesnt care much about food or treats so he just sits and stare at me instead of following the treat. so i need professional help. if you can give advices about making him interested and chase a frisbee would be great too. but i mainly want to seek a club or place so i can socialize him and really get into dog sports and go competitively one day. please list sites if you know them. i live in Battle Creek, MI ( southwest) doesnt have to be in michigan. im looking for closest to me. zip code is 49015. Indiana is really close to me too.
The Kalamazoo Kennel Club is really close to you. They offer a variety of classes there in obedience and agility. Obedience is something you can start on now since you can't jump a puppy this young.

Also, there is GRAC, the Grand Rapids Agility Club that has indoor training every other week on the South side of Grand Rapids, in Kentwood. That would be a 45 minute drive for you at most from where you are. Joining an agility club is a good idea too...

For Frisbee work, the link below is to trainers in Cedar Springs, Michigan, just north of Grand Rapids. Fur and Fiction did a seminar with them and they are indeed excellent trainers. They also do drop in training on Sundays. You should contact them and go check it out.

If you want to check out herding, there is a place in Grandville Michigan that offers lessons. The instructor teaches all breeds, but she is a Border Collie person herself...

If you really want to do Frisbee, go see Ron and Apryl at Pawsitive Vybe in Cedar Springs. You simply can't go wrong with them and they will certainly set you on the right track.
You have to remember, your pup is too young to do much now in the way of jumps, so working on basic obedience is really a good idea to start until your pup is a year or more.
Remember, I am really close to you and if I don't know a resource locally for you to pursue, I will know of someone who will be able to help. I have a LOT of connections in the dog training community. Email if you have any questions.
