Having problems housebreaking my puppy?
I just got a 12 week old maltese x mini poodle and refuses to go to the toilet in the back yard and my dad thought it would be clever to get a litter which my puppy just lays in and eats the pebbles. So he ends up going in the kitchen or the lounge floor which is carpeted. Any ideas of new approches?
I have a maltese x shih tzu and I found that I had to take her out as soon as she woke up, as soon as she had eaten etc. I stayed outside with her for as long as it took her to do her business (sometimes took up to an hour) and gave her the most amount of praise and reward (overdid it really). But it worked, she can now stay inside for a whole night and never does anything inside!
You can also buy a scented spray which I found was a really good tool to get them to go where you want them to.
