Does obedience training change a dogs personality?
I love our labrador very very much, just want to change a couple things: teach him to heel when walking and stop eating food off the counter. Im afraid training will transform him into a 'robot'.
Trust me, teaching him "heel" and "off" commands will not turn a lab into a robot. Especially with correct training.
Find a GOOD trainer who uses positive reinforcement and appropriate correction training and use them.
People who follow the Cesar Millan "abuse and ignore a dog into submission" should not be used. THAT will mentally affect your dog and potentially turn him into a robotic, beaten down, time bomb.
