I've just purchased a 10 week old female cairn terrier. What is the Best way to house train her?
Also, Please adivse me .. do you think she should start Obedience training. This puppy is for my 3 and a half year old. He already feeds her and brushes her, and we take her outside together. Unfortunately, she doesn't always go to the bathroom outside. Any Ideas? what am I doing wrong??? Please help us.. Thanks any ides are welcome.
i have had 3 cairn terriers they are very good dogs they are also very stubborn dogs. One of mine when ever he got in trouble he would go under our dinning room table and poop. we have a dog door and a fenced in backyard so our dogs can go out whenever they have to or want to. Anyway...you can start house training her now but she is a puppy so she is going to have accidents in the house. i would highly suggest that you crate training her. you can also try paper training her so if she does go in the house its on paper and not the carpet. then teach her to go outside. i would also suggest taking her to puppy class it helps with socialization of puppies and they learn a few basic commands. Most classes start after they have their 2nd set of shots. I love cairn terriers! Best of luck with your pup and congratulations
