Training two border collie puppies?!?
Me and my other half have always wanted a dog. After doing some research, we decided on a border collie. My fiancee goes running every morning and wanted a dog he could take with him and I only work part time, so have a lot of free time. When we went, he had a brother, they were so cute together and the lady and gentleman we got him from, said they are both very laid back personalities and would not be a problem together (they have 3 border collies themselves which are the most well trained dogs I have ever seen!!!)
Time is not an issue, as we are major dog lovers and will devote all our free time to them!!! Any advice would be much appreciated :)
Congrats on getting border collies! I have two border collies and have had two others in the past (I've only ever had border collies - I love them so much). They are the most amazing dogs ever!
The most important thing I can tell you is to get crates for them if they will be indoor dogs, because having them in crates simplifies the training process 100%. Plus your dogs will love them for the rest of their lives. Potty training is easier (it can be done in a few days with border collies, though good luck with two (= ) and they have a place to sleep at night where they can't get into trouble.
Check out www.bordercollie.org
It has a great section on training.
