What new trick can I train my dog?

I have a 3 year old yellow labrador! I love training her and i'm good at it! I trained her myself~

So heres the tricks my dog knows:
sit
lay down
fetch the paper
sit up pretty
circle me
say sorry(puts head on my lap)
army crawl(crawls on her belly)
shake
stay
roll over
come
wave
bang bang(play dead)
heel

then all the house manner stuff like "leave it" and stuff
shes also a trained gundog for my dad. she is really smart i i would like to enter her in agility but i dont have the money to buy equipment. Any fun training ideas?
my dog can fetch and retrieve, thats kinda part of the gundog thing. = )

attack is the last thing to teach her. you can teach her to "salute". its when they bow down on cue. you can even have her salute to any flag you desire! my yorkie, rat terrier, and cane corso can do it! (im teaching my latest dog which is also my icon how to do it). here's how. you can get her favorite snack (i use corn flakes. they're healthy for your dog, sugarless, and dogs love 'em!!) hold the favorite snack against your dogs chest, and slowly pull it down. she will begin to lie down. dont allow her to though! you can stop her form lying down by holding her rump up with your hand. then say the command ("salute") and reward and praise. consistency if the key with this trick. also, if you ever see her stretching like this:

5 – Reward your dog at the correct time. If your dog is barking and on your command he stops barking, make sure you reward his good behavior by either giving him a treat or by gently caressing him and saying "good dog". If you reward your dog after he has obeyed your commands, you will help in getting the message across that you just don't like his barking habits.

Do you know of any resources for gun dog training?

We are bringing home two retriever puppies at the start of the year and we would like to train them as gun/ hunting dogs. Though we have hunted for years and have had retrievers in the past, we have never trained them to actually retrieve birds or rabbits in the field.

I am wondering what books or videos you used to get more information on training them to retrieve? I have looked at Cabela's and even searched on Amazon but I am not sure what exactly to look for,

most of the work is already done if you are getting a retrieving breed. they will chase, pick up and bring back instinctively. all you need to do is develop a language between you and the dog. "dead bird" is a favorite for finding downed birds. so when you shoot a bird you keep saying "dead bird" and walking around the area where it fell. when they find it you say "good dog! dead bird!" the next time you shoot something and say "dead bird" the dog will know whats going on. depending on the dog, it may take once or it may take a dozen times, but they will figure it out. thats the basic principle to retrievers. they just need a command to know when and where to look.


you can also use an attention command or a whistle and hand commands. "hip" is my attention command. i say "hip" and the dog stops and looks at me, then i use my arm to gesture in a direction. dogs can figure this out it the back yard if you play with them enough.


retrievers are pretty easy to train, especially if you only use them in the field and not on the water. all they really need is experience and clear communication with their owners. the rest is automatic to them. no need to train for seeking and finding. you just need to tell them when.

how do you get the neighbors dog to stop barking....?

I would like to get the neightbors dog to stop barking. these people are not open to training the dog since we have asked and they are negligent. before i sue or call animal control, which sounds like a good revenge but complicated, i would rather handle the matter myself.

I have taken to throwing water on the dog over the fence everytime it barks. that worked on one dog but this other one form another neighbor is too far for me to get it wet. Besides, i might hit my neighbor by accident and there might be some more trouble than i want at this time.

What are some good ways other than water training to quiet a dog? I thought about dog whistles. Would blowing on it hard every time the dog barks make such a high pitched horrible sound that the dog would stop barking for fear of that sound? thanks.
thanks for the responses. however, i have already spoken to the neighbor and they dont do or do not know what to do about it. So now its war.
