Are there any good tips for training our new golden retriever?

im talking more about him trying to rip up our couch, and littering the floor.
Any tips?

The best way to train for undesired behaviors is to prevent them and supervision. Never leave him unsupervised. When you are with him and we goes to chew on something he shouldn't use a sharp noise to get his attention when he focuses on you give him a treay and praise. Then give him and appropriate item to chew or play with. Praise him again when he plays with his things.

I'm assuming by littering the floor you mean potty training. Again never leave him unsupervised. Take him out frequently, and when ever he shows signs of "looking". Praise all success. If you supervise properly there won't be accidents, but in the event one occurs clean it with an enzyme remover.

I suggest obiediance classes they will teach you how to teach him as well as provide a great opportunity for socialization.
