N this is for qualified dog trainers not people who just train their own dogs

I have been training working dogs for almost 30 years..29 and change to be exact. I am old enough to know better!!!!
I train dogs because I love taking an animal that has great potential and turning it into something that will serve humankind.
I also love the action of bite work and I love competing.

Working with dogs can be very rewarding, if you have the right dogs to start out with. I could not train civilian dogs for example because I do not have the temperament to deal with marginal dogs on a regular basis.
My job can be fun if you are dedicated, competitive and always want to produce something better then the last dog you trained.
I do not know any dog trainers here in the USA that are STRICTLY training dogs and making enough to live on.
Everyone I know that trains also breeds or sells or imports dogs or does something that is dog related..working a detection dog or a patrol dog somewhere.

Training your dog to walk without pulling?

I have a 6 month old yellow lab that I try to take for walks regularly. The only thing is, he has a bad habit of pulling and I'm not too sure I'll be able to handle it when he gets to his full weight. Any suggestions on how I can better train him to walk next to me or at least not pull on the leash? Thanks! :)

Use a gentle lead harness. If put on correctly, it will minimize the pulling.
Also, when he pulls, turn around and walk the other way. When he pulls again, turn around and walk the other way again. Keep doing this every time you take him for a walk. Soon, (weeks maybe) he will realize he must stay by you to get anywhere.

How to teach 'watch me' to a dog , training your dog to pay attention to you?

It is easy. Take a piece of food that the animal really loves...mine likes steak...cut it into pieces and hold it in front of your face. Repeat..........Waaaaaaaaaaaaach mi! When it starts to pay attention to your face and not jump give it a treat. I do this with the dog on it's back. Takes a while but when it does what you ask it's treat time
