Where's the best room to keep a crate-trained dog? Should two crate-trained dogs be kept in the same room?
I just rescued a crate-trained, fixed, nine month old, female Puggle. My roomate has a 2 year old, not-fixed, female Chiuaua that is also crate-trained. Should I keep their crates in the living room together or should I keep my dog in my room? I don't necessarily have a problem with her not being in a crate, but she loves it, and goes in of her own accord. Also, it wouldn't really be fair to my roomate's dog. I don't know what to do... any suggestions?
Crate training is one of the kindest things a person can do for their dogs..any dog. Simply put, dogs are den animals, they And it doesn't surprise me that your dog loves it. Location of the crate is really personal. I use an upstairs room that has lots of light, and a window, so that if I have company that is afraid of my dog * a golden retriever, lol * or someone that just doesn't like animals that much, the dogs are out of the way, and don't feel too left out.
What location works best for you? I would think two dogs in crates in the same room, might get them "speaking to eachother " very loudly . I think if I were you the crate would be in my room... as long as she has access to it when she wants.
