How to train your dog not to pull when on a leash?
I have two labs and neither of them know how to walk on a leash properly. I take them for walks 2 or 3 times a day (separately) and no matter what i try, they will not cooperate. I have tried punishing them for pulling, rewarding them for not pulling (which never happened), trying to keep their attention... none of it seems to be working. Does anyone have an idea that has actually worked? I have the time to devote to training them, I just need the right strategy.
yes, my family has had german sheppards for years
my borther even lives next to e GS training farm for troopers
but anyway
get a leash called the "gentle leader"
it solves their issues. they have a problem with YOU, they think yer a subdominant dog, and wont listen to you
until u show them yer higher in rank, they WILL never be part of yer stupid leash thing.
the gentle leader naturally forces the dogs snout lower than normal... just like a dominant dog would push it when hes telling the sub dog to back down.
its NOT a choke chain, its safe and humane, but its gets that damn animal to obey
