Can I litter train my pug?
So I just moved into my own place and I'll be getting a pug puppy in about a month, so it will be the first time I (instead of my dad) will be house training my dog. Back home, we could let the dogs outside and let them run around in the yard but I'm in an apt now in dt Toronto so it's a bit different. I'm wondering if I can litter train my pug instead of running down 15 stories to take him outside several times a day. If so, can you guys give me any tips? How do I let him know that he' supposed to go in there.. I know I should reward him after with positive reinforcement, but how do I actually get him in there in the first place? (I have visions of myself running with him in my arms, trying to get the the litter box and pee flying everywhere lol!)
Also how long should the training take? Is it extremely difficult? Or should i just stick to making the trip downstairs all the time.
I would really appreciate any help or advice you guys can offer! Thanks a lot!! :)
If you do not have the energy or desire to get you and your dog outside to go to the bathroom then a dog is not for you.
If you want something that uses a litterbox, get a cat.
Either commit to being a good dog owner and making the trip downstairs all the time, or forget the dog.
