Stoping a dog from picking up my disc golf discs?
Hi i love to go disc golfing and my dog has just recentl started picking up the discs and carry them how do i train him to not do this?
well i take my dog disc golfing and in the past he ran after them and just licked them once and then stood over them but this year he has been picking them up how can i teach him to stop picking them up
Depends... Do you allow your dog to play with frisbees in general? If you do, then you will confuse the heck out of your dog by telling him one frisbee is bad and the other is OK. Your best bet is to just keep your golf discs in a place that your dog cannot get to. I know my friends have a carrying case for theirs that zips up and they store in the closet.
IN response to your added details...
Keep him on leash when you are on the course. I'm sure other playing would appreciate that. If he cannot reliably stay by your side off leash, than I don't believe he should be off leash at a disc golf course. Throwing a frisbee and expecting your dog to stay put over and over would be torture for most breeds.
